Outstanding coverage for a wide range of home business operators:

High standards of coverage.

Business At Home Coverage is available fo businesses operated from your primary residence. It is offered as an extension to your Homeowner, Tenant, Condominium or Farm Homeowners policy. Coverage will be either All Risk or Broad Named Perils, depending on you residential policy.

Blanket coverage is provided for all business property on your premises, including tools, books, papers, office furniture, computer hardware and software and merchandise.

Off-premises blanket coverage is provided to a limit of $5,000 for all buisness property. Loss due to theft and accidental destruction is covered to a limit of $1,000 for securities and $300 for money.

You choose the level of coverage that best suits your business needs:

$10,000 property limit
$20,000 property limit
$30,000 property limit

Extra expense: provided to a limit of $2,500.

Liability Options: standard policy liability limit, with options to increase as required. Your Business At Home liability limit must be the same as your residential policy limit.

Professional liability for hairdressers: available on a per operator basis.

Deductible: same as your principal residence policy.

Claims-free Discount: will be applied to the Business At Home premiums if the principle residence policy is also loss free.

If your home business doesn't meet eligibility requirements for Business At Home Coverage, Portage Mutual can offer you a Retailers Pro or Office Pro policy at a discounted rate.
